I am registered for Pass Plus.
What is Pass Plus?:
Pass Plus gives benefits to newly qualified car drivers, instructors, insurers and the general public.
Pass Plus enables the new driver to develop their existing skills, acquire the new skills and knowledge that make up positive driving, further develop anticipation skills, plan and deal with hazards safely, understand how to reduce their risk of having a crash and maintain a courteous and considerate attitude to other road users.
Key Elements:
A syllabus designed by the Driving Standards Agency with input from the driving instruction industry,
A structured, competence-based training programme.
Discounts available from participating insurance companies.
The support of the driving instruction and insurance industries.
Modules:
The Modules will not all take the same amount of time to cover but each course must consist of a minimum of six hours training.
The number of sessions required depends on the ability of the individual pupil.
Module 1 - Two parts to include an introduction and town driving.
Module 2 - All-weather driving.
Module 3 - Out of town driving and rural roads.
Module 4 - Night driving.
Module 5 - Dual carriageways.
Module 6 - Motorway driving.
Throughout the course I will complete the Training Report form and your Progress Record and you will be graded accordingly.
At the end of the course I will send the Report to the Pass Plus Unit at the DSA and they will then issue you with a Certificate of Completion.
I do believe that the Pass Plus Scheme is invaluable.
