Lessons: You can either book one hour or two hour lessons. The New Driver: At the commencement of the lesson you must be medically fit to drive and you must be able to read in good daylight, with glasses or contact lenses if you wear them, a motor vehicle number plate from a distance of 20 metres. I plan all my lessons in advance but they may be subject to change. As to how soon you are ready to take your driving test varies according to each individual. The Theory and Hazard Perception Test: I can help you with this. The Theory Test consists of 50 multiple choice questions and you must obtain a pass mark of 43 out of 50. The Hazard Perception test consists of 14 one minute clips. There are 15 hazards to identify and you must score 44 out of 75 to pass. The Theory and Hazard Perception Test can be booked by telephone or online at www.direct.gov.uk. The Practical Driving Test: To pass the practical driving test you must show the examiner that you can operate the vehicle smoothly and drive in a safe and confident manner giving courtesy to other road users. You will usually be asked to carry out two manoeuvres and may be asked to carry out an emergency stop promptly and under full control. To pass the practical driving test you must comit no more than 15 minor faults and not comit a serious or dangerous fault. If you fail the test you will have to retake it. You can book the practical driving test by telephone or online at www.direct.gov.uk. The Trained Driver: It may be that an individual has not driven for some time or may have lost thier confidence. I can discuss and plan the lessons to suit the individuals personal needs.
